Healing isn’t always about the adult you are. Sometimes, it’s about the child you were.
We all carry within us a version of ourselves that’s still raw, tender, and waiting to be heard. This part is called the inner child — the emotional, sensitive aspect of your psyche that was shaped during childhood.
While many of us grow up and become responsible adults, parts of our childhood stay frozen inside us, especially if we’ve experienced neglect, shame, abandonment, or lack of emotional attunement.
What Is the Inner Child?
The inner child is not a metaphor — it’s a psychological reality. It represents:
- Your need for love and safety
- Your early experiences of joy, fear, and sadness
- The original version of you, unfiltered and honest
When this child is wounded — ignored, judged, or made to feel unworthy — those wounds don’t disappear. They show up later as:
- People-pleasing
- Fear of rejection
- Constant overachievement
- Difficulty trusting others
- Anxiety in relationships
Simple Practices for Chakra Maintenance
The new common language will be more simple and regular than the existing European languages. It will be as simple as Occidental; in fact, it will be Occidental. To an English person, it will seem like simplified English, as a skeptical Cambridge friend of mine told me what Occidental is. To achieve this, it would be necessary to have uniform grammar, pronunciation and more common words. Their separate existence is a myth.
The European languages are members of the same family. Their separate existence is a myth. For science, music, sport, etc, Europe uses the same vocabulary.
Signs Your Inner Child Needs Healing
- You feel triggered by situations that seem small
- You often criticize yourself harshly
- You struggle with self-worth
- You crave validation
- You have difficulty setting boundaries
These are signs that the child within you is still hurting.
Their separate existence is a myth. For science, music, sport, etc, Europe uses the same vocabulary. The languages only differ in their grammar, their pronunciation and their most common words.
Their separate existence is a myth. For science, music, sport, etc, Europe uses the same vocabulary. The languages only differ in their grammar, their pronunciation and their most common words. Everyone realizes why a new common language would be desirable: one could refuse to pay expensive translators. To achieve this, it would be necessary to have uniform grammar, pronunciation and more common words. If several languages coalesce, the grammar of the resulting language is more simple and regular than that of the individual languages.
Healing the Inner Child
Healing begins when you pause and listen. At Move On, we guide clients through:
- Inner child visualization: Reconnecting with your younger self through guided practices
- Journaling prompts: Writing letters to and from your inner child
- Reparenting work: Giving yourself the love and safety you never received
The more you acknowledge your inner child, the more you begin to live from a place of wholeness, not fear.
Why It Matters
When the inner child heals, your adult self becomes more:
- Grounded
- Emotionally available
- Confident
- Free to choose differently
This is the real freedom — when the past no longer controls the present.
